Updated over a week ago

Barcodes are essential for tracking and managing inventory efficiently. By creating and attaching barcodes to your articles, you can speed up your order fulfillment. This guide covers the basic steps for generating barcodes and printing them on stickers, which can then be affixed to individual items in your store or warehouse.

Note: In this article, we provide a general overview of creating barcodes and barcode stickers for use with TWICE. As barcode scanners and printers vary, please refer to your specific device’s user manual for detailed instructions.

Steps:

  1. Choose a Barcode Generator

    • Use a barcode generator compatible with your barcode scanner. There are various online tools and software available for generating barcodes.

    • Ensure each created barcode corresponds to a human-readable ID - this individual article ID we'll need later on to connect to your inventory.

  2. Generate and Download Barcodes

    • Generate the barcode using the chosen tool. Ensure the barcode format matches the type required by your barcode scanner.

    • Download the barcode images in a printable format (e.g., PDF, PNG).

  3. Print Barcode Stickers

    • Use a barcode printer, such as the Zebra or Dymo printer, to print the barcodes. These printers are designed to produce high-quality, scannable labels.

    • Print the stickers and cut them to size if necessary.

  4. Attach Barcode Stickers to Products

    • Affix the printed barcode stickers to the individual items. Make sure the stickers are securely attached and clearly visible.

    • The barcode should correspond to a human-readable ID, which can be used for inventory tracking and management.

Examples:

  • Example: For a bike, you can generate a barcode that corresponds to the article ID "BIKE1234". The barcode sticker is then printed and attached to the individual bike.
