Organizing your product catalog into categories enhances both the management and customer-facing aspects of your store. Categories help streamline operations and improve the shopping experience by acting as filters in your online store.
Creating Product Categories
Setting up new product categories is a straightforward process:
Navigate to Your Catalog: Go to Catalog > Categories.
Create a New Category: Click on New Category, enter a name, and then click Create category.
Customize the Category: Once created, you can:
Edit the name.
Add a description.
Upload an image.
If the Category Terms Add-On is active, set category-specific terms and conditions.
Establish an online booking buffer to specify how far in advance orders must be placed for products within this category.
Rearrange the products within that category.
Deleting a Product Category
To remove an existing category, follow these steps:
Locate the Category: Navigate to the category you wish to delete.
Remove the Category: Click on the More button in the top right corner of the category page and select Delete category.
Deleting a category does not remove the products within it; it only eliminates the category itself from your catalog.
