Implementing maintenance times is crucial for managing the availability of rental products effectively. This feature ensures each product is inspected and prepared adequately before being rented out again, enhancing overall customer satisfaction.
Maintenance Time Overview
Maintenance time acts as a default duration during which a product remains blocked from your sales channels after it has been returned. This buffer time is essential for allowing store employees enough time to check the product's condition and prepare it for the next customer.
Please note that maintenance times are calculated independently of your store’s operating hours. For instance, a product returned at store closing might be booked for the very next morning.
Despite these settings, maintenance time can be overridden when creating orders manually from your TWICE Admin, allowing your staff to book products even during maintenance periods.
How to Set Up Maintenance Time
Navigate to Product Settings: From your TWICE Admin, go to Catalog > Products, select the product, and click on Settings.
Adjust Maintenance Settings: Scroll to the Miscellaneous settings card and define the maintenance time in minutes, hours, or days.
Note: Changes to the maintenance time will only affect future orders and do not apply to any existing bookings.
Example
For instance, if you rent out mountain bikes that require 3 hours for cleaning and possible repairs, you could set the maintenance time as follows:
Booking 1: John Doe rents a Bike from 10:00 to 13:00.
Maintenance Time 1: 13:00 to 16:00.
Booking 2: Jane Smith rents the Bike from 16:00 to 18:00.
Maintenance Time 2: 18:00 to 21:00.
After these periods, the bike will again be available for further bookings from 21:00 onwards.
