FAQ - Failed Payments for Subscription Products

What happens if my customer's subscription payment fails?

If a recurring subscription payment fails, TWICE automatically retries the charge 1 day after the initial failed attempt, and subsequently every three days for two weeks. So, retry charges are made on

  • on day 1 after the initial charge attempt

  • on 3rd day after the initial charge attempt

  • on 6th day after the initial charge attempt

  • on 9th day after the initial charge attempt

  • on 12th day after the initial charge attempt

In total, we retry the payment over a two week period.

The customer is automatically notified about the failed charge via email. Read more on transactional messages here.

We also recommend enabling notifications for failed charges so you’re informed immediately when a payment attempt does not go through.
